I think just below the surface, there is a lot of racial tension that came from a black man being elected president. A lot of the fervor in the tea party movement is motivated by this racial tension.

The GOP leadership is wise to denounce these slurs but of course they really have no choice. They cannot appear to be openly racist.

A means test is one of many good ideas that the Teas Party have had...but like the other person said, the Republicans will block them. BTW-Timothy McVeigh committed his crime as revenge for the Federal Government killing so many people at the Branch Dividian Compound in Waco Texas. That has nothing to do with the Tea Party movement that is all about excessive taxation and Constitutional limits on the Federal Government.
