Tea Party Movement Michigan

Clifford Said:

The data is in, the Tea Partiers are racist, what say you?

We Answered:

Your two sample questions only show that Tea Partiers are less likely to agree with the assumption that poverty among blacks is due to White racism.

My own brother would not be perpetually poor if only he worked harder and stopped using excuses.
My own brother should work himself up without special favors.

And I racist against my own brother?

We are both white, btw.

And of course Tea Party sympathizers are "whiter, older, wealthier, and more well-educated than the average American."
95% of blacks voted for Obama so very few blacks will be part of a movement that criticised Obama.
The older (and wiser) you get, the more likely you are to be conservative.
The more money you have, the more you pay in taxes and therefor the more you resent the government for taking your money and wasting it.

And all you have to do is look at Obama's appointments (other than the top 10) to see he favors not only minorities but young people. I have been amazed at how young his appointments are.

And negative opinions of Latinos and immigrants? Maybe a low opinion of illigal immigration.

Not that there is NO truth to this study. They say 5% of th Tea Party is Democrat and I can see no reason a Democrat would be a memnber to the Tea Party based on policy issues. I bet most of the racists were Democrats. And, of course, some bigots will be attracted to a movement criticizing the first black president. THis does not mean the movement itself is racist.

One thing I havent' been able to find from reading about this survey. Who did they ask? How did they choose the peole to poll? If someone was just walking up and asking "random" people at a Tea Party, then that opens the possibllity that the pollster might have been targetting people he or she thought looked racist.
If it was by phone, and landbased phone calls, then that limits the calls to mostly older people as more and more people (like myself) don't have a land-based line, except for computer use.

Another note: This poll only questions white Tea partier. That ignores 21% of all Tea Partiers. http://www.gallup.com/poll/127181/Tea-Pa…
