Tea Party Sandwiches

Tom Said:

English tea party sandwiches without butter nor cheese?

We Answered:

The classic tea party sandwich is normally butter and cucumber. Without the butter this might be a bit bland so why not have tuna and cucumber.

Hope that helps!

Esther Said:

what can you do with the leftover crusts from making cucumber tea sandwiches?

We Answered:

well umm... i actually d'ont have many ideas but you could feed it to a pet or feed it to some animals, or.... here i got this article from a website: their ideas are pretty good
There are so many ways to use the crust of your bread. If you have children who wont eat the crust, depending on how old they are, together you can make things from play clay to gourmet turkey stuffing.

Lets start at the top. If you have old inedible bread crust the best thing to do with it feed it to the local wild life. Crows and other birds love bread crust plus it can be thrilling for a younger child to see little birdies pecking crumbs at their feet. Squirrels also love old bread crust and you and your child can put bread crust on a stump by your house for them.
If you have bread crust that is a little bit old then it is time to give your household plants a treat. In a blender add about two cups of torn up old bread crusts, two cups of water, and a table spoon of plant food. Puree the mixture then poor it around the base of all your plants. It will act like a compost and will improve your soil and nurture your plants. Also, unlike compost, it will not smell.
Now if you have fresh bread crusts, (and this is what I always do), Cut them up into cubes and place them on a cookie sheet. Turn the oven on 100degrees ferenhite. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and bake the crusts for about 4-5 hours or until they are dried out and hard. You can store them in a air tight container for quite a while. By now you are most likely what you can do with your baked crust. Well I use them for salad croutons, I crush them and use them as a healthy substitute for cracker crumbs, or use them to make home made turkey stuffing.
To make play clay is a little harder. Use fresh bread crusts. Put the crusts in a bowl, make sure the crust is in very small pieces. Mix with a fork, slowly adding SMALL amounts of water. When it becomes too globby to mix use your hands and knead the crusts until it turns into a strong dough. You can add salt if you like to preserve it more. Have you child or yourself make shapes and pictures with the clay then let it set next to the window for a few days to dry and harden. It gives masterpieces a earthen look and is great for little keepsakes.

I hope that you now have a few ideas for bread crust, and if all else fails just eat it!

What can I do with 8 year olds and a tea party?

We Answered:

you could do the tea party then let them really dress up and play american idol. My sister did this with her daughter who is 9 and all the girls had hair and makeup done then walked the catwalk and had their pictures taken. It was alot of fun and the girls had a ball.

Storing Tea Party Sandwiches?

We Answered:

Once you make the tea sandwiches, layer them in between paper towels to absorb any moisture they might get and then wrap them with plastic wrap. Store in fridge but not too much in advance.

If you have cucumber sandwiches, the cucumbers will release water. So, rule of thumb for tea sandwiches should be made and served as quickly as possible.

Benjamin Said:

Other than tea sandwiches, what foods can be served at a tea party?
