CNBC Correspondent Rick Santelli called for a “Chicago Tea Party” on Feb 19th in protesting President Obama’s plan to help homeowners in trouble. Santelli’s call was answered by the right-wing group Freedomworks, which funds campaigns promoting big business interests, and is the opposite of what the real Boston Tea Party was. FreedomWorks was funded in 2004 by Dick Army (former Republican House Majority leader & lobbyist); consolidated Citizens for a Sound Economy, funded by the Koch family; and Empower America, a lobbying firm, that had fought against healthcare and minimum-wage efforts while hailing deregulation.

Since Reagan took office, the master plan of the Republicans is:

1. Spend like drunken sailors and hand out tax breaks, especially to the rich who will give you big campaign donations. Make it look like good times. Run the country right up to the brink of fatal bankruptcy.

2. Just as it all starts falling apart, put up a lame candidate you know will lose, and let the Democrats have control. Leave such a mess for the Democrats that they are forced to raise taxes to keep the treasury from going bankrupt.

3. As soon as the Democrats take power, immediately start screaming about deficits and high taxes.

The Tea Partiers have some legitimate complaints. They're just blaming the wrong people.

Tea party conservatives are acting on their freedoms and committing no crimes. Whenever anyone commits any horrible crime, it is wrong to point to law-abiding citizens and blame them. All freedom-loving Americans, on any side of the aisle, ought to recognize attempts to grab free speech for what they are and this ought to be something of a uniting principle for all of us.

In our criminal justice system, he is either competent or he isn't. It really isn't a matter of anything else. If he is competent to stand trial, he has the same rights as anyone else, which includes the right to be judged by a jury of his peers. This modern day trial by media crap is unhelpful for our freedoms, also.

We do not want our health care brought down to the level of Iraq's healthcare or any other middle eastern country. We do not want the government to be involved in the health care of the majority of Americans. You are not going to get a free ride with Obamacare, you will be paying for it unless you are on welfare and the quality will go down drastically. We must keep the government out of healthcare.~
