Seems the balance of those in D.C. believe they are life time employees, once elected. They pass their own pay raises, health care, perks, benefits, retirement plans, etc. They lost sight of what it means to serve and replaced it with the belief they are entitled to gross overpay for life, and a golden parachute that big industry CEO's would take envy of. Not all are so lost there are a handful that do take service serious. Term limits though not perfect would be a good start, with a second good start being a major cut in those that serve wages, perks and retirement.

That's a good question. You do have to ignore the obvious to be a tea bugger, like the fact that taxes have been lowered for people earning less than $200,000 during the Obama administration. If they admit that their whole reason for hanging tea bags on themselves in the first place disappears, then they have to say never mind and go home. But what would they do for fun, just get liquored up and sit around watching wrestling, football, Mayberry reruns, that crazy drill sergeant, mega machines, loggers, and ice road truckers? That would be pretty tame after their moment of fame.

Another thing that amuses me about them is when they claim that there are black tea party members. I have never seen any. They would probably be as rare as disabled people like the man with Parkinson's disease who was unfortunate enough to wander into their midst. It seems to me the racist signs would make minorities a little uncomfortable. It would be kind of like visiting stormfront. I would think any black members would have to be like Dave Chappelle's Clayton Bigsby, the black white supremacist.

Edit: To the answerer who has apparently been watching cry baby Beck, the NAACP was founded mostly by whites. Some of their principal objectives were to end lynching of blacks by southern racists, end school segregation, end Jim Crow Laws, end voter discrimination against blacks, and protect the civil rights of those whose rights need protecting..
