I have 4 kids and make a cake each year for them. My best buy is the Australian womens weekly birthday cake book...really easy ones and v.impressive looking which is even better.
Otherwise I have done a tractor, cow, farmyard, lion, rainbow. or whatever you want, by doing the following....
just make a huge quantity of sponge cake mixture, cook it in a roasting tin (like the ones that come in the bottom of a new oven), then draw a design on some paper, place it one the cake and cut around it, decorate the animal or whatever appropriately with either colour ready rol icing or coloured butter icing. Of course, the cake is on a flat board, but you could easily do a fire engine like this, just copy the picture from a book! believe me...they look really impressive and are soooo easy, and fairly cheep too!
The leftover cake that you cut off........your son can decorate this too with icing and sprinkles and put it on the tea table!
Or all the kids at the party could decorate these leftovers!

They are not serious because they dont want to be a party. They are a so-called movement. Their leaders say when it becomes a party it is doomed. Funny

One thing you can do is make specific requests of people when you send it to them. If, for example, your neighbor Mildred is well known for her almond biscotti, write a little note at the bottom of her invitation saying, "Mildred, can you please bring a batch of your amazing biscotti? You know how much everyone adores it!" If your cousin Sam is proud of his chocolate chip cookies, include a note saying, "Can I count on you to bring some of those great cookies of yours? We were raving about the ones you baked last year almost until Valentine's Day!" In short, kiss up a little bit. :-)

Oh, dear. If you listen to Peter Jennings or Al Hunt... or read Newsweek... or other mainstream media philosopher-kings, you'd be almost persuaded that the Tea-party consists of people who want a a nation without rules... a libertarian mob, aimless juveniles who need to sit down and shut up.

I hope the Tea Party remains allied with the Republican party but I know they will remain allied to conservatives within the Republican party. I'm a Tea Party person myself. I go to monthly townhall meetings. I hear politicians debate and I ask questions. I'm for limited government, rule of law, and the free market system. "We the People" are Americans from every walk of life. We're individuals who love our liberty and will fight for the founder's intent of our U.S. Constitution.

The Tea Parties are not only a political movement but we're are able to remain in contact via social media. The mainstream media doesn't know what to do with the young conservatives who are very savvy to liberal progressives who want to transform our nation into the United States of America into the USSA. (putting "socialist" into the mix).

I love my God. I love my family. I love my country & it's consitution. I love my guns. ... AND IN THAT ORDER!
