Whether you are right or left wing ... when a political party takes the name of an event that started a bloody coup against the then legitimate government (yes I know thats not politically correct to say but until Washington won, legally he was in the wrong !) and then proceeds to talk about taking aim and puts up images of scope sights on their political adversaries and has radio show hosts who talk openly about taking things into their own hands and using their weapons. Then you know you are not in a democracy any more. You are in the beginnings of some kind of armed struggle. If you put that in a country with such broad gun ownership and a history of manic tragic violent acts then this atrocity was almost inevitable.

I think the Tea Party politicans need to really look hard at themselves and their behavior.
Any poltician, in a democracy, who even hints at or threatens violence against their own country men is breaking the most basic understanding of what a democracy is all about.

Tea Party politicians need to do a little research on the beginnings of the Nazi party....there are broad similarites.

Tea Partiers you are playing with fire. I hope you know what you are doing.
.....and if you find a leader with a little itty bitty mustache, who can't paint, then you might want to think twice.

cookies/tea biscuits
scones
Borrow or use your grandma's tea plates, which hold a cup of tea and cookies or finger sandwiches.
Serve everything on silver trays.
Use crystal.
Lace tablecloth
Fresh flowers on each table.
Wear your pearls. Floral print dresses. Lace.
Get different flavors of coffee and different flavors of tea. Also consider hot and cold herb teas.
Serve Earl Grey tea with thin lemon wedges and sugar or traditionally with lots of fresh cream and sugar; This is the way the Brits do it for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Party favors: little packages of different kinds of teas, etc. in a colorful bag with tissue

Dress up, with long white gloves, hats and all (or close to that)
Have tiered trays of little cakes, cucumber sandwiches (triangles)
and possibly grapes or other seasonal small fruit, small light wafer crackers, cheese cubes
Make sure you have a variety of assorted teas for your company to enjoy (Actual Lemonaid for the younger females)
Lemons, Sugar and for the true English flair cream or milk
One option that we did is even though you may have plenty of tea cups, others do to and would be proud to show them off, so suggest that they bring their favorite and have a story to tell how they received/purchased the cup and why. It's not mandatory and you can offer a story to the ladies whom you have loaned a cup to. Give a small very inexpensive gift (bath oil beads, fragrant soap, small candle) for the favorite/unique answer.
As for the rest of the time; Play cards (pinochle is fun if most know how to play), have a local charity or prominent friend (if available) give a quick informative talk, will give you a conversation starter for the group if unknown to each other. Piano player, if you have both piano and one who plays, light music in background, usually classical, small talk, don't do too much gossiping it usually backfires. Then just sit back and go with the flow. Have fun! P.S. If it is just too hot for hot tea, iced tea is fine and you can make an Arnold Palmer by using half iced tea and half lemonaid as an option.

The T_axed E_nough A_ready Party has a very good candidate for Senate in Nevada that is going to kick "Dingy" Harry Reid's azz right out of the Senate!

The Tea Party is a national, spontanious, movement by people from all political parties that want:
Lower taxes
Smaller government
And public officials that are accountable to "We the People"
Will obey the laws of the land
and honor their SACRED oaths to defend and protect the US and the Constitution.
Why?
Because it has become painfully obvious to those who have been paying attention that our President, the majority party in Congress, and many of the Repub/RINOs are NOT DOING THE JOB!!!! So lets get rid of the dead wood and replace the elitist career politios with regular Americans!!! (like Sarah Palin, Sharron Angle, or Christine O'Donnell)
