Should our potential next president feel this way about our economy?

We Answered:

the economy will fix itself. it always does.
government does very little well. why in the Good Lord's Name, would we want the government to muck more up, than it already does (poorly)???????????

What do you think of Nashville Star's Melissa Lawson?

We Answered:

The demographic that makes the effort to vote isn't the same as those who appreciate Melissa. I think probably 12-16 year olds are calling in; I know that I'm not getting off my couch to do it.

melinda doolittle elimination?

We Answered:

I agree with you. Sometimes you have to be black in order to understand these things. That's how it goes in America sometimes. We get overlooked constantly simply because of race. Melinda getting voted off is the most obvious example. Just keep telling yourself, "Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Elliot Yamin". All three lost their season, but became more successful than the winner. Melinda will definantly have an album. Don't feel bad for her though. Melinda is a 29 year old mature woman of color. She knows the deal. She knows that she's the best, in fact she was quoted this morning saying, " I'm kinda glad it's over because now i can sing without being judged". This is merely a roadbump on her path to success.

Does greater exposure to facts increase opposition to illegal immigration in the US?

We Answered:

I think it does. I could use myself as an example. Illegal immigration doesn't affect me or my state as much as it does the people in the Border states. We usually get the good hard working types while Border states get ALL types. My state has things in order to prevent welfare fraud or even legal benefits to illegals. Other states don't. I didn't realize the discrepancies in state to state problems until I came on here. So yes greater exposure makes people more aware of what's going on outside of their particular domain.

Still undecided about who I will vote for perhaps you can help?

We Answered:

It sounds to me like the decision you need to make is whether to support McCain or Obama, or whether to support a third party candidate - or even write-in someone not on the ballot.

In deciding whether to vote for McCain or Obama, the first question you might consider is whether you are in a battleground state. If the election in your state is close, then your vote could potentially have a huge impact on who is the next president. In this case, weight the records and decide which is most likely to support the ideals you most believe in.

If you're not in a contested state, vote for (or write-in) the candidate you feel best represents your values or you feel is the most qualified. Use your vote to make a statement that you're not satisfied with the status-quo or the major candidates. You could vote this way even if you're in a battleground state, but then you're basically letting someone else make your decision for you.

Like you, I do wish more candidates would speak plainly or honestly about their beliefs. By playing to the middle they just muddle their message.

I didn't comment specifically about any of the candidates because it sounds like you already know enough to make an informed decision.

Do members agree the britains got talent (bgt) voting system is fixed?

We Answered:

everything u said i totally agree with

Chester Said:

What do you think about the audience voting system in reality TV talent shows? [eg American Idol]?

We Answered:

I think it's more of a money making opportunity for the production companies, etc than it is them caring about who the public wants to win. If they wanted to they could clean it up but that would defeat their purpose. LOL s
