Can I Vote In The General Election

Antonio Said:

I missed the Primary election can I still vote in the General election?

We Answered:

Yes. You do not have to vote in the primary to vote in the general election.

Sue Said:

Will you vote in the General Election?

We Answered:

I agree - I have voted in every local, national and european election since I have been old enough. Democracy is something my forefathers fought for and is still denied to large parts of the world today.

Apathy is not an excuse - in the UK there is a political party for you they span the complete spectrum form far left to far right. In that sense there is no need for a "none of the above" option.

Tracy Said:

Can I vote in the General Election if I don't vote in the Primaries?

We Answered:

Voting in the General Election in November is not contingent on voting in your state's Primary or Caucus. That being said, it is still really important to vote in the Primaries -- this is your chance to pick who you want to be your political party's nominee! Go to this website to find out more about the election laws in your state and find out when your state's Primary is scheduled for -- many have passed already, but you may still have a chance to cast your FIRST vote! http://www.declareyourself.com/voting_fa…

Crystal Said:

If you voted for the primaries, can you vote in the general election?

We Answered:

The primaries are, as far as the the presidential election is concerned, a partisan election where voters choose which of their own party candidate they wanted running in the November election. Once you register to vote, in most cases, you are a voter with the right to vote in all elections. Since the primary was only to decide on one thing, you can now decide on the other- who is to be our next president. Unless you have moved, been convicted of a felony, been found mentally incompetent, or otherwise have been notified of a legal reason or cause to invalidate your right to vote, you can vote and only needed to register once. Check with your local register of voters for more information and find out where you can vote.

Jack Said:

can i still vote in the general election if i didn't register to vote back in january?

We Answered:

Each state has its own deadline as to when voters must be registered by before an election. Deadlines for the General Election are usually closer to the November date, but to find out for sure when your state's deadline is, go to this website ( http://www.declareyourself.com/voting_fa… ), where you'll also be able to register to vote online in just a few minutes!
