Change Of Address Voter Registration

Gabriel Said:

A federal jury summons was mailed to my old address. I live in another state/district now. What should I do?

We Answered:

Doesn't it say what to do on the summons if you are unable to come? You have to write a letter to the jury coordinator or judge and ask for a pardon and claim it as an undue hardship.

Mario Said:

A voter registration card?

We Answered:

ONce you get your drivers liscense changed to your new address, you can register right there at the DMV. Just ask while you are having your drivers liscense changed.

Ted Said:

Is this happening in any other state?

We Answered:

That sounds like the GOP at it finest! They are Dirty liars and sneaky scum bags! This is America, When an elected official uses, I mean MIS USES his or her office to commit Actual voter fraud, They should be removed from office in hand cuffs and humiliated publicly for the rest of the crooks to see

Martin Said:

What happens if I skip Jury Service in this situation?

We Answered:

There should be a phone number on the letter. The best thing to do would be to get in contact with the court and explain that you filed the change of address paperwork, yet the letter still went to the wrong address.

They'll be able to advise you of your obligations. However, unless you moved quite some distance away, then it's unlikely you'll be excused due to this minor clerical error.

Nancy Said:

voter registration question? please respond...?

We Answered:

Call the County Clerk's office in your county with any questions about voting.

You will only need your photo I.D., not any card you've been mailed. Your name will be on the polling list at your voting place (precinct) on voting day.

I would call and make sure you know where to go to vote, and to make sure you are on the books.

Discuss It!
