Early Voting In Texas

Thelma Said:

Is it true that if you vote early in Texas, you must vote again on March 4th for your vote to count?

We Answered:

I believe this is what they are talking about: YOU DO HAVE TO GO BACK....I went to a precint training provided by the Obama Campaign this weekend. We need to win both our Senate District Primary and Caucus/Precinct Convention in Texas.

Step 1: vote in the primary (early vote or election day)
Step 2: caucus in the evening (7:15pm election day) (you must be present for your vote to count)

For info see website below.

I hope this helps.

Timothy Said:

Do I have to be a member of Democ to vote in the early vote in texas?

We Answered:

The music lover is right! However, we have open primaries in Texas, so you could have voted early, if you hadn't waited so long!

Stacey Said:

Can I Vote Early in Texas during the presidential election?

We Answered:

Yes. Go to the court house and tell them you want to vote.

Elizabeth Said:

How long did it take you vote at early voting locations? Florida? Ohio? Texas? ?

We Answered:

Voting at lunch hour in Houston, Texas, took 30 minutes waiting to get a machine.

Geraldine Said:

Do you have Early Voting?? and Do you plan on Voting now rather than waiting?

We Answered:

I live in Texas and I am voting tonight. I thought about waiting until election day. The idea of crowds doesn't scare me because I live in a small town and the lines are never that long. However, I really just want to get it out of the way. I actually heard the reports about record turnouts and this was enlightening. I do not care who people vote for, but I do believe that everyone who is able should exercise their right.

Rene Said:

Who has participated in early voting?

We Answered:

I just waited in line for an hour and 15 minutes, but I did met two nice guys and we talked while we waited so that was nice. Then, I voted with no problems and was on my merry way.

But my friend was in line for 4 hours!

Georgia Said:

Who might oppose and who would support the early voting for primaries in Texas and why?

We Answered:

Texas is one of those states that politically speaking is regarded as mostly Republican territory, although with the influx of immigration close to the border vast parts of the state are becoming shades of purple (i.e. mixed with Democratic voters). Due to its sheer size and number of electoral votes, Texas is one of those states that pollsters report "could be" a swing state and early primaries and exit polling reflect those votes of the people. This sampling during the earlier primaries can help electoral advocates on both Republican and Democratic camps determine how well their candidate will perform in that state and how many votes would be at stake especially in a general election. I encourage you to research the early primary history of Iowa (which is a caucus state) to provide further information on advantages and disadvantages of early voting.
