False accusations of widespread voter fraud were part of a deliberate strategy by Karl Rove and his evil henchmen to implement his plan of permanent Republican rule. This was what the firing of the US attorneys was about, Bush wanted to replace them with attorneys who would prosecute fake voter fraud allegations, intimidate and disenfranchise people in key Democratic districts, and minorities of course.No more than one or two actual fraudulent votes were ever proven. But Republican electoral shenanigans cost thousands and thousands of votes, in places where they would have made a difference. Like Katherine Harris's 'felon purge' that purged thousands of legitimate voters, mostly in Democratic districts, in a state GW Bush won by less than 600 votes.
Even if voter fraud were much more prevalent, it could never be as widespread and systematic as deliberate Republican polling fraud.
