General Election Vote

Veronica Said:

Can I cast my vote before the Presidential general election?

We Answered:

All states offer voters the option of voting prior to the election. In some states, the ballots are returned by mail. This is referred to as absentee voting. Twenty-three states permit voters to vote in person at the offices of county clerks or at other satellite voting locations. This is referred to as early voting or in-person absentee voting.

Here's where to get information on your state:

Andrew Said:

If the 2010 general election vote in Buckingham had been delayed, what would have happened to the Speakership?

We Answered:

A deputy speaker would have stepped in until the deferred election was ran. There are a couple of deputy speakers anyway.

Thelma Said:

If you missed the Primaries, can you vote in the general election?

We Answered:

Yes...they are completely separate elections. I have never voted in a Primary...but have never missed a general election.

Tonya Said:

How will you vote in the general election if the tea party candidate wins the primary in your state?

We Answered:

Definitely Democrat...the tea party people are lead around by the nose by the crooks and liars of the big business.

Lillie Said:

Can you vote in the general presidential election if you don't vote in the primary?

We Answered:

You have to be registered at your current address. Most states take you off the registration list if you have not voted in 2 or 3 years.

You can vote in the general election, even if you did not vote in the primary. You can even vote for the other party's candidate in the general election. You do not have to declare your party at the general election, like you have to do in some states in the primary.

In many states there are registration drives at stores, churches, community centers, etc for those who cannot make it to the government office.

Look up your county on the web. There should be information on registering.
