Does this bother anyone else?

We Answered:

Examples of this (organized cheating in elections by pretending to be someone you are not) are hard to come by, and in fact there have been 0 prosections for this, and it IS prosecutable.

For obvious reasons, it's not much of a real threat. By going and impersonating someone else you are directly committing a crime in front of witnesses, in order to subvert one vote - and it better be someone who didn't & won't vote, or they will notice it immediately.

Actual documented methods of subverting elections look to disrupt multiple votes and be hard to catch, for example the Republicans illegally flooding the pro-Democrat "Get out the vote" phone banks with robot generated hang up calls, costing the Democrats hundreds of votes.

If you are working multiple jobs or have financial issues or even suffer from agoraphobia then the requirement to get ID may impose enough of a burden to cost you your right to vote. It is only worth encumbering such a fundamental right when there is an actual documented problem being corrected.

These attempts are always made by predominantly Republican legislative bodies in brazen attempts to disenfranchise the poor and disadvantaged that they figure will vote against them. You and all Republicans should be ashamed of this sort of "win at any cost" strategy that totally ignores moral and ethical considerations.
