Ed there's probably a fine line there decades ago. When yo consider the lobbyists gave them $3.7 billion last year and employ their families, well what can we expect. Sen. Reid's kids have all worked for them, but like Lott's son did also and now he has a big time firm of his own. He decided to screw Mississippi and get on with life, which yo cannot blame him after the way he handled the "birthday party".

but seriously it does seem they have been doing what is good for them considering minimum wages didn't increase a penny over ten years, yet they got a $40,000 raise, not bad. Will have to go back and see exactly when they "wrote" their own ticket and that would be when they circumvented everything.

Probably got kicked off during LBJ and just started getting worse under Carter and Reagan. But that would be interesting to see. the site below shows what all of them get, from who and how much and might go back on former ones also.
