How Do I Change My Voter Registration
Marc Said:
Switching voter registration?We Answered:
What you can do is cancel your previous registration by contacting your local Board of Elections (you can find their contact information by going to this website - http://www.declareyourself.com/voting_fa… ). Once you do that, you can go to this website (http://electionimpact3.votenet.com/decla… ) and register to vote. When asked if you have registered before, state that this is the first time you are registering from this new address. After filling it out, print it and mail it to or drop it off at your local Board of Elections office.Karl Said:
How do I change my political affiliation on my voter registration? We Answered:
Changing your party affiliation is easy. Simply go to any mandated site (Library, Post Office, DMV) or your election office. Before you do, however, make sure you know whether or not your state is a closed primary state.Changing your party affiliation may make you ineligible to vote in primary elections (which are nominating elections for the two parties) if your state closes participation to party members only.
The good news, though, is that as an "independent" you still get to make free choices on General Election ballots, just like the rest of us. Regardless of party affiliation, every voter gets the same ballot in November!
Don't forget to vote!
