If ANYBODY is manipulating oil prices, it certainly isn't the Republicans. The $4/gallon gas was hurting them dearly in an election year.....Then, the Conservatives started in w/ the "Drill here, drill now, save $$" ....and all of a sudden, the prices started dropping like a rock. So if folks are manipulating, they sure weren't supporting McCain. Sounds like the Lefties, who wouldve allowed prices to drop again if there was a danger of domestic drilling starting to take hold here.

OK, so much for conspiracy theories.

BTW--to the gal that blames "greedy oil companies": the oil industry pretty consistently makes about 9% markup. Thats reasonable. Its the US GOVERNMENT that has made MORE than the oil companies on every gallon of gasoline---and that has been true since the Clinton gas tax hike.

Last point, and KEY: The Leftists that have taken over our government are printing TRILLIONS of new $$ out of nothing. That causes inflation. Because our dollars are worth LESS, that forces up the cost of global commodities like oil. If the dollar loses value until its only worth .50 cents, the cost of a barrel of oil--even if oil prices are stable---will likely DOUBLE, just to reflect the loss of value in our currency. The spend-thrifts that are printing money are driving up oil/gas prices far more than the simplistic-as-hell "greedy oil companies" argument.

They thought it sounded good when they said the rich were going to pay for it, but the rich will just pass the cost down in higher prices for goods. Over 120 million American's get their health care provided through the Government through medicare, medicaid, and the VA. (Which 2 out of 3 are broke), if you pass this universal coverage less than 1/5 of the population will be paying for the whole damn thing in theory. When you figure the increases in cost to business you must also figure that this will be passed onto the consumer. The hidden tax!
