You have to lodge an application prior to moving/going away from your enrolled electorate. See your local member or even a post office for an application form. This includes if you will be on holidays or have moved interstate ate... if you are overseas you can vote prior to the election, but still must apply for the right to do this to cast your vote and yes voting is compulsory ! see ya!Anthony Said:

Just check the links for postal voting from within or outside of Vic.
You can apply for a postal vote for the 2006 State election if you can’t vote in person at a voting centre on election day. Applications must be received by 6pm on Thursday, 23 November. We strongly advise that you apply as soon as possible in order to avoid any delays in postal delivery.

Once complete, this form can be faxed back to 03 9299 0595. Alternatively, completed and signed postal vote applications can be scanned and emailed to cpc@vec.vic.gov.au.

Once complete, this form must be returned to the overseas voting centre or interstate voting centre nearest to you. These details are supplied on the form. Interstate postal vote applications only can also be scanned and emailed to cpc@vec.vic.gov.au.
You must ensure that you return the ballot papers in an envelope postmarked on or before election day - Saturday, 25 November.
