Re Register To Vote

Marlene Said:

How/where do I re-register to vote?

We Answered:

You can do it at the DMV or the town hall. Make sure you get it done before Oct. 15th, or you will miss the deadline. Just tell them that you have moved, so they can put you in the right precinct.

Heidi Said:

Do I have to re-register to vote in the presidential election?

We Answered:

No. You do not have to reregister unless...
- you've changed your address.
- you've changed your name.
- i think that's it.

If you still have your voter registration card, you're in extra-good shape, but many places just need your driver's license if you're already registered.

If you are in another place on election day (like vacation in another country), you can request an absentee ballot.

If you're still in the same complex, you probably just need to update or something, not reregister entirely. You're definitely still in the same voting district, so you're on record.

Rachel Said:

Do you have to re-register to vote if you move within the same state?

We Answered:

You have to re register. You can't vote from your former address - that would be fraud. You need to put your current address on it and be registered. You don't have many days left, so you better hurry.

Ted Said:

Do i need to re-register to vote tomorrow if i voted in 2008?

Myrtle Said:

If I moved to a new county since first registering to vote, do I need to re-register?

We Answered:

Yes you need to reregister in your new county (town/city/state)

Willie Said:

Do I need to re-register to vote in the upcoming elections?

We Answered:

In most cases, you will not have to re-register. If you have not moved addresses, you will only have to re-register (complete the whole form all over again), or provide a written note to your election official if you change your name.

Elsie Said:
