Theodore Said:
Do I still need to register to vote?We Answered:
Usually, once you register, and vote regularly, you stay "active". If you skip several elections (even local "small" ones), you'll put put onto the "inactive" list, and I'm not sure how you get back on the "active" list beyond showing up at your polling place and talking to one of the poll workers. In Alabama, we don't need voter ID cards (yet)., but we do need to show some form of ID (like a driver's license) when we show up to vote.
When I lived and voted in Florida, we had to have a voter registration card AND ID.
