You should have no problem as long as you still live at the same address. The link below has more information. I don't believe they ever ask to see your registration card (they don't in my state).

Oh, NY! I thought you meant WA. If it were WA, I'd say don't worry about it because the electors would vote in your stead as well as for the deceased and might even find thousands of "lost" votes after three recounts having shown their Governor candidate having loosing.

In your case, just ask for an absentee ballet as you can only register if you are an actual permanent resident and from what you have written, you are in college and are a temporary resident of that location. If you live there long enough and meet other criteria, you can change your residency then.
