Register Vote Uk

Nancy Said:

Can a Brazilian with a Leave to Remain visa vote in UK?

We Answered:

Not to my knowledge, you have to be an EU or commonwealth citizen, resident in the UK and either have leave to remain in the UK or not require such leave.

you maybe able to vote in EU or Local election but since Brazil is neither in the EU or commonwealth you are barred from general elections.

Korky be quiet, "The following people can vote:

* UK citizens
* qualifying Commonwealth citizens
* citizens of any EU country resident in the UK
* certain UK citizens that live or work abroad"

Rafael Said:

Should those who emigrate out off the UK be allowed to vote?

We Answered:

Absolutely NOT!

The only people in my opinion who are resident outside the Country and should be able to vote, are Soldiers and maybe civil servants who are posted overseas.

Lorraine Said:

I've just joined my spouse in the UK, Banbury, Oxfordshire. How can I register to vote?

We Answered:

You don't say what nationality you are. I'm sure you wouldn't be able to vote if you are just here for a short time,and not a BRIT. Is your husband British?If you are British then I would go to the nearest town hall.

Jenny Said:

UK Elections? Do I need to register, to vote?

We Answered:

If you have received a poll card, you are registered to vote. You can get on the electoral register via your local council, not only through the aboutmyvote website, so you might have done that previously.

Alternatively, if you live with your parents, they should have included your name on the electoral register form they were sent (which could have been a few months ago). Only one of these forms gets sent to each household and the person who completes it should include any 17-year-olds on the form along with their date of birth so that they are able to vote if they have reached 18 by the time of the election.
