From what I've seen a lot of this has been caused by poor communication between the higher ups and the workers. So that needs to be bridged so that the workers don't feel left in the dark. For this I would say put a couple senior postmen in the boardroom to mitigate.

The next step would be to bring back the postal train.

Finally, I'd reduce the rounds to their original size. It's fair they should work their full 8 hours (and they understand that) but, there's plenty of jobs that can be done at the sorting office or post office. It's also a chance to win back public opinion as this will create more jobs (when certain postmen retire or leave their rounds aren't necessarily being given a new postman).

Okay, these reforms may cost more but, the Royal mail offers a very good service and considering nearly every thing's linked to inflation, adding a penny to the stamp cost every other year isn't a biggy.

I do not like the current modernisation process. It's pretty clear that it's being set up to be sold off and as someone who lives in the sticks I'm worried about the future. Under the current "modernisation" route how long will it be until I will have to collect my post at the office? I believe some people in really remote areas are having to do this already.

I kinda feel for the postmen striking at the moment. This is pretty much their last chance before it's "sold off" to Europe. Their last stand, so all I say is good luck to them.

probably most people that go in to the army are squaddies and are from housing estates. and where they grew up was white poor areas and now they are full of illegal immigrants and are sick of fighting for this county so we can house the people we are fighting. and these people can get us back by blowing up london for being genrous in giving them free houses why most of the poor english people live on the street. surly we should house people on the street before we house people from other countries. t

The entire voting system in UK is corrupt. Many thousands of voters in the Scottish Parliamentary elections have their voting papers classified as spoilt because they are marked with two X's instead of one X. Apparently a new voting procedure was introduced [probably by cunning Labour] in an attempt to alter the voting pattern in some way.

In Birmingham over the last decade or so, the entire voting system has been infiltrated by political parties who have seen fit to change voting patterns by corrupt and illegal methods. Some 20,000 or so votes were cast in favour of Labour at the last locals by 'dead people'. The dead shall rise up and vote Labour.

Anyone who trusts politicians and/or civil servants in the matter of free and fair elections needs their heads examining.

I would like to see a completely independent and neutral voting system put in place. The people to run it? A mixed bag of Mormons and Swiss may be able to sort out the mess.

The one group which governments in UK fear the most are the military voters. It was the British Army who voted Labour in with a massive landslide victory in 1945 and it is that same army [the descendants] who will in their time vote Labour out. Hence the urgent need to spoil the military votes in some way.

These local and parliamentary elections should be declared null and void.
