Vote For Policies

Tanya Said:

Why do so many people vote for policies that favor the rich and negate their own political and economic

We Answered:

Many people do not see their vote as a way to selfishly vote to have the government steal stuff from one person and give it to another.

"A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only last until the citizens discover they can vote themselves largesse out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that the Democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy, to be followed by a dictatorship, and then a monarchy."

- Alexis de Tocqueville

Parliamentary systems.

Rick Said:

Would it be better if we could only vote on particular policies on the ballot?

We Answered:

The real problem is that politicans rarely say what they actually believe. Take Obama for instance, he's taken enough different stands on every issue now that he would qualify to get votes on every side of every topic in your system.

We have the technology to go even farther than that. We could actually have a national vote on laws and issues. We'd just need to have secure IDs for every voter..

Screw the politicians. Let us vote on laws.
