You are right. People say all the time that they want to "throw the rascals out." The thing is, everyone tends to think that their "rascal" is not the one causing the problem, so we keep collectively "voting the rascals back in" and the cycle starts all over again.

Fact: 80% of incumbents in Congress win re-election if they seek it, no matter what the so-called mood of the voters is.

The problem with term limits on members of Congress is that Congress itself would have to approve a Constitutional Amendment and send it to the states for ratification. In the extremely unlikely event that Members of Congress sign their own death warrant in this fashion, it would still take a very long time for the ratification process to conclude.

Unions only have whatever power is granted them by the members. If the majority of the workers don't want a union, they can vote in their own union leadership on a platform of dissolving the union.

It would be stupid, but they can do it.

All of Congress and 35 Senators are up for reelection. If it is done responsibly it could make a positive effect. If we are reckless voting along party lines without knowing where the candidates stand on issues and their voting record like in 2006. Our energy prices will continue to increase and our economy will continue on its downward slope, like under Pelosi and Reed.
