Voter Card Andhra Pradesh
Ron Said:
What is the Legal Procedure for Changing Personal Name After Marriage in Andhra Pradesh, India? We Answered:
The first document you will require for name change after marriage is the Marriage Certificate duly signed by you (maiden name before marriage), your husband and the priest (confirming that Ms. X surname Y is legally married to Mr. A surname B). This is the most important document to establish your married name and surname. Then you need to go through an affidavit procedure, give advertisement in newspaper for name change etc.
Subsequently, for all docs where you want your name replaced, you will need to contact that organisation to issue you with new docs with new name.
Lots of hassle.....don't understand why you want all the old docs with new name. That is unnecessary....also having SSC certificate with in-laws name is incorrect since you were a minor when in SSC and hence cannot have in-laws......think about it. Moreover, nobody looks at SSC certificate for in-laws names...
As for Passport, PAN card, drivers license, voter card, bank account etc you only need to make the application with the marriage certificate (keep lots of copies on hand...). That should do it.
Passport always has a column for women to state their maiden name (as well as all the nick names, aliases, other names) before marriage to ensure traceability to other legal docs. So do not worry about changing all documents. Just ensure that when you apply for a new document after marriage, all you need to do is provide a copy of your marriage certificate with the application form filled in(or a photo-copy duly certified/notarized by a gazetted officer).
Hope that helps.
