I think you have to wait for another 2.5 yrs for the next elections.
Because 97% of people in Chennai have been provided Voter Id's (according to Election Commission report) ... I think you are the unlucky ones like us.

We did not get voter id's even after submitting application and photos by dec 2008.

No other go expect to wait till next elections.

First of all u have to make clear of th word "Nepalese in India". There is also the proper Indian Nepali Citizen contrary to Nepalese belong to the Nepal. Perhaps ur talking about Nepali belong to Nepal.

First of all there is not time duration for any nepali belong to nepal to get any legal status, u must be blood related of someone who is already holding indian citizenship.

Generally nowdays Voting card is accepted as a Identity of India Citizenship. but some part of the Country Ration Card is Primary requirement of Identity.

As per the sugauli treaty ur authorised to work in india as per certain circumstances but not authorise to get Indian Citizenship if ur not actually belong.
