Republicans argue that it's no big deal to require voters to produce a photo I.D. before casting their ballots. Somebody ought to tell Mark Sanford. With TV cameras rolling, the Republican governor of South Carolina showed up to vote this morning in Sullivans Island. He was turned away. To vote in South Carolina, you've got to show a voter registration card, a valid South Carolina driver's license or a South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles photo I.D. card. The governor seems to have had none of the above.

There has been no evidence of voter fraud yet, because voters have yet to go to the polls. But elections officials say they will be sending their information to prosecutors, who will determine whether any investigation will begin.

I was not aware until yesterday when I received a notice in the mail, that you do NOT need a Photo I.D. to place your VOTE! All you need is two forms of Identification and these include. A credit card bill, receipt, or payment....A payday money loan bill/agreement, a utility bill, a rental receipt, a neighbor, or friends note stating they have know you for a year or longer (including their signature)ed two of anything above! This is unacceptable proof of I.D. to me! Basically someone could slip into anybodies mailbox until they acquire that persons credit card, utility, blockbuster, or payday loan bill and use it! There is NO PHOTO on any of these item's. Lots of question's attached to this question.

You don't have to enroll in a party to vote in the general election but in some states you cannot vote in that party's primary unless you are registered in that party.

However in the general election you can vote for anyone no matter what box you check.

You can check whatever box you want and enroll in any party you want or not enroll in any party.

I am not enrolled in a party but am registered.

Edit: You can check unafiliated and still vote for Obama and it still counts as a vote for Obama.

Or you can register as a Democrat, anyone can register as a Democrat or Republican or whatever, you do not have to be "somebody" or do anything for the Democratic party to register as a Democrat. You can go ahead and check the box if you want to be registered as a Democrat.

It will not matter in the election if you are registered as "Unafiliated" or "Democrat", your vote for Obama will be a vote for Obama. You could be registered as a"Republican" and still vote for Obama and it still counts as a vote for Obama. How you decide to register on the Voter Reg form does not affect your vote for a candidate, your vote is your vote.

County Board will process it faster. The state board will most likely just forward it to them anyways. In NC, counties run the elections and will be the ones responsible for assigning you a poll location.
