Voter Turnout 2008 Election

Debra Said:

How can we (Americans) increase voter turnout for the most important 2008 election?

We Answered:

serious doc, the 2004 election had the highest turnout since 1968, 43% of the entire us populating voted, not of just eligible voters, you do the math, that is a very large figure of eligible voters.some folks would like to have a paid day off work to vote , i am not sure about that, but Saturday would be a good day to vote 92% of eligible voters are off work on Saturday.I remember in 2000 I was in California on a business trip, of course i had voted by mail in . but at 5pm while driving down the freeway on one of the biggest radio stations klos 95.5 with a listening audience of 3.5 million people , was announcing that Gore had won the election! with almost 4 hours left of voting left in California. i am quite sure quite a few folks drove straight home without voting. now that kind of nonsense should be stopped. 2000 was a terrible example of strong arm bullying by both sides. i say let's do it on a Saturday.and no darn projections by radio and TV until 10 pm west coast time.

Gail Said:

what was virginia's voter turnout for the 2008 election?

We Answered:

76.39% of active registered voters in Virginia voted in the November 2008 election.

Rebecca Said:

Why was the voter turnout at 64%?What can be done to increase voter turnout?

We Answered:

If 36% of eligible voters aren't informed or motivated enough to cast a ballot, do you really want these people participating in the process? Sorry, but these are voters that I can do without.
