Voting In Maryland

Wayne Said:

Has the State of Maryland ever voted Republican in a general election?

We Answered:

I'm in Maryland and it's always gone Democrat so my vote, for Pres., is usually a waste of time.

Jane Said:

If I move to Maryland by October 10th, will I be able to vote in Maryland in the upcoming Pres. election?

We Answered:

You missed the dead line. You need something like 90 days to get processed.

I live in Maryland and missed an election once because I moved from the city to the county.

They are fast to remove your name but very slow in putting it on the roles.

The other guy is right about it being democrat controlled. You will learn that when you see the high taxes and the low performance of Annapolis. But the cops are not that bad if you keep your speed below 70.

Voting Republican in Maryland?

We Answered:

Don't worry about who wins the Democratic primary in Maryland. I don't like saying things like this, but it's just one state.

If you don't want Hillary Clinton to win the election, then work for a Republican who can beat her. Yes, Maryland may go to a Democrat, but the Republican primary there needs all the voters it can get to help nominate a candidate who can win over all.

Vote for Mitt Romney. I've written many times on many different topics about why he is the best candidate currently running for president. You can find the full answers on my profile, but I'll give you a small sampling here.

He's the best candidate to handle the economy. His background in business, both in creating jobs and competing with foreign markets, is unmatched by any other candidate, Democrat or Republican.

He's conservative, even though his conversion is more recent than some others'. He learned about the practical aspects of being pro-life when he was Governor. Harvard wanted to create an assembly line for fetuses for their stem cell research, and Romney vetoed the legislation that would have allowed them to do so. From that moment on, every decision he's made was staunchly pro-life.

He also created legislation to make gay marriage illegal, after the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled that it was legal by virtue of not being illegal. He put this legislation together and passed it despite the fact that he was going up against a Democratic legislature. Also, as a result of this experience, he's vowed to never appoint justices that try to "legislate from the bench."

Romney has solid conservative credentials, he can work with an "opposition Congress", and he's willing to put his heart and soul into being our president.

He's the best candidate to square off against Hillary Clinton in the general election, should she get the Democratic nomination. Help make sure that he gets the Republican one.

Kirk Said:

With voting extended to 9:00 pm eastern time in Maryland does that have a detrimental effect on the election?

We Answered:

No. I guess it could mean that a candidate could get more voters to vote for him as they have more time to get to a voting booth, but for the most part it doesn't. Mainly it means that the vote counting just goes later into the night.

Rodney Said:

I recently moved to Manhattan but still work for a company in Maryland. Can I still pay taxes for Maryland?

We Answered:

You will have to pay Maryland taxes if you own a home there.

Jorge Said:

what is the required number of days of residence in maryland to be able to register to vote in maryland?

We Answered:

You can register as soon as you move. But you need to be registered for 30 days in order to vote in an election. It's the same in almost all states.
