Voting Information - General Election? We Answered:
Read you local paper or got to community events like festivals, etc. That's where I learn most of what I know before I vote. Go out and meet the candidates, don't wait for them to come to you.April Said:

The importance of voting at the next General Election? We Answered:
The importance of the public voting 'pre-supposes' there is a party 'worth voting for' and who will keep too its canvassing election manifesto - and none of them ever do - all have their own agenda when elected. Thats why the public have/do show such apathy towards politics/polititcians of any party. Its alright people saying if a person does'nt bother too vote - they have no right to complain - thats 'rubbish' - in to-days voting system/attitude because of the reasons mention above - these politicians have knocked the stuffing out of the public/voters by there 'contempt' that they've shown toward the public/voters for the last 30+ years.!! All the public ask is for an elected government to live up to the 'expectations - promises - direction' that that party gave in the election process to the voters - but the never do.
Be in no doubt - whoever wins the comming election the UK will be in the 'same mess' in 4-5yrs time as we are now - because as you say - we need a 'new direction' but that will not happen - whatever promises the elected party made to the voters will be disregarded as has happened over the last 30+yrs.
This country 'does need' a radical change and the only way for that too happen is to vote for a 'hung parliament' - for a short while - making the elected party having too operate with a chosen minor party to get the % needed to govern and that will make them (with the minority party watching) behave themselves as to how 'they govern' knowing there % vote can be taken away from them at any time - that gives the power back too the people letting these poltitcians realise that without them 'behaving themselves' they will not get a clear un-contested majority. Sure deals will have to be done in that situation but with the message it sends out to these politicians it will be worth it - but the public does'nt have the stomach for such action - so all we'll get is just more of the same.!!

Who will you be voting for in the General Election? We Answered:
Labour. Funny you think Labour are falling apart, I think the Tories are. So far they can't seem to decide on anything except the inheritance tax policy that will benefit only the richest 3,000 people in the country. Cameron and Osbourne were both for swingeing cuts to start straight away, then Cameron changed his mind to the Labour stance, unfortunately Osbourne hasn't. Most of the Conservative party want Osbourne out, but Cameron is stuck with him. They are, as always, divided on the EU, and the only way they can try and get at Labour are through lying about the crime figures, teen pregnancy figures, unemployment figures, and most likely now by a smear campaign on Gordon Brown over an allegation of bullying where there is no kind of proof. If the Tories haven't got a cohesive plan for this country after 13yrs in opposition, they don't deserve to rule.Randy Said:
Were you going to "skip" voting in General Election, but reconsidered lately? If so, why?We Answered:
I was not going to vote, but I changed my mind when my husband was a little offended. He said that he fought for my freedom in Iraq, and millions of other people have been fighting for my freedom for centuries. I need to vote because I owe them that. He said that the people in Iraq just got their right to vote, and most of them were scared to death to do so in fear of being killed. We don't have to worry about that here. We are so lucky. You need to vote.
