Where To Vote

Willard Said:

I want to vote, where can I go to learn about the candidates?

We Answered:

As a start, I would quickly visit each candidates election website and review where they stand on the issues through the "issues" link.

In the past, I've also used this website as a general guide to get a better picture of each candidate...

IMPORTANT: For the November 2010 general elections, the website has not been updated because most states are still going through their primaries right now and the final selection of candidates has not been made for the November elections. The website will update as the primaries are complete.

Claire Said:

Can I vote where I have a vacation home?

We Answered:

Yes, you would. You can only have one primary residence, and for tax purposes, I would stick with Florida.

Everything is electronic now and they can find out in seconds if you are registered to vote somewhere else. Voter fraud is probably felony.

Mattie Said:

How do I find out where to vote if I never received notification after registering?

We Answered:

Your local newspaper will usually publish a listing of polling places. Otherwise stop by your local Municipal building.

Ann Said:

How would I know that I am registered to vote? Where do I go to vote in New Jersey? ?

We Answered:

If you are properly registered, you should be received confrimation in the mail with your polling place.

If you registered through ACORN, I wouldn't hold my breathe....

Google Maps is setting something up as well, but I'm not sure if it works yet:

This seems to show you as well:

Happy voting!

Gladys Said:

How do you find out where you are supposed to vote?

We Answered:

I you have moved you need to do early voting and register in the same day. Google you state's Board of Elections website and look for your states regulations, or call them with questions. In North Carolina, you can go to any early voting site in your county (look on the county's Board of Elections website to find all the locations), and same day register and vote...but, the last day to do this is Saturday, because after that you can't register and vote on the same day.
