Well who you vote for is really a personal decision however I think you should support the political party that best serves your interests. You are not voting for a person (like the Rudd popularity contest of 07) rather for the policies these parties believe in.

As you said they are all liars so whether you vote for the Liberals or Labor they will lie to secure your vote so think carefully before you give them your vote.

Maybe you should think about voting for a strong independent candidate?

Anyway the Australian voting system is rather flawed with this 2 party preferred voting system so effectively you are forced to vote for one of the major parties even if you select a smaller party on the ballot form.

If you can't bring yourself to vote for any of them just get your name marked of the electoral roll and informal vote so none of the parties get your vote.

ellegee3...I am over 30 and was there for the Labor Government and we lost our house, you got to get over it!!!!. Also more people are loosing thier homes now than any other time in our history including when they were 18%!

I can guarantee on thing 18% interest on a house back then is a lot less than 8% on a house now. So much has changes over the past 15-20 years that you cannot judge the current Labor goverment on the previous one. If you do you are exceptionally narrowminded or have little understanding of how politics works.

Also anyone worth their salt acknowledges the economy is only strong due to the resources boom and demand from China for our goods. Howard is riding a wave that even you or I coul have riden. Budget surpluses only exist because this Liberal government is the highest taxing government in our history, and they withdrew Billions in funding and sold public assets that we already owned!!

Furthermore if John Howard was such a good economical manager why did he allow 10 interest rates rises in a row....the truth either he isn't that good or he has little control!!. Therefore if Rudd get in he will have little effect on the interest rates because there are so many other factors to consider, and are determined independently by the reserve bank.

I have voted for both major parties at different times over the past decade. But I am definitely voting Labor this time. This Howard government has probably pushed me to become a Labor voter fpr the forseeable future.
