Why Should People Vote
Nora Said:
any reasons why people should vote for presidents instead of electrol college? We Answered:
The Electoral College was formed to prevent some carpetbagger from coming into a very populated area and basically, bribing it's citizens to elect him (or her.)Some unscrupulous slick speaker, say a lawyer, could shop around for a place to claim as "home", get elected as state representative (even though he, or she, never lived there) then bring in millions of dollars in pork in preparation for his, or her run for President.
The last thing our country needs is some corrupt carpetbagger buying her, or his, way into the White House just because millions of New Yorkers, or where ever, liked all the earmark bribe money.
Jessie Said:
In such a critical time and in such a important government position, why should people vote for the most qualiWe Answered:
We have a very unfortunate streak of 'anti-intellectualism' in our culture here in the US. We don't trust people who seem to know too much about what they're doing. The best example of this is GW Bush, a man whose entire campaign was based on the idea that he was just as ignorant as anyone who would vote for him. Every Democratic candidate for president is bashed by the Republicans as being too bright, too expert, and therefore somehow not to be trusted.Americans aren't ready to face up to inconvenient facts. About half of us still believe with all our hearts that tax cuts will bring a balanced budget even if spending remains out of control. What kind of incredible levels of self-deception does it take to believe something like that? Yet you hear it all the time!
We have short attention spans and we want grossly simple answers to complicated questions. The answer to crime is to double sentences and double them again, and if that doesn't work double them again. The answer to any kind of internation dispute is to throw our weight around. The answer to ethics/corruption is Jesus.
So just by having a 'nuanced view', Richard is down two strikes.
Then it comes to name recognition, which you buy with money. I would bet you anything that at least half of Democratic voters in the US have never HEARD of Bill Richardson! Hillary, of course, they've heard of. Obama is the darling of the media, of course they've seen him.
I don't know who said it but truer words were never spoken: We get the government we deserve! 8^<

Why should people vote for Barack Obama? We Answered:
omg...obama rocks!!he will win!!
vote for him!!
hes a great candidate and he will do alot for this country!!
Irene Said:
Why should people not vote for Barack Obama? We Answered:
Because he tells lies, he is a racist (go look it up if you don't know what that means), he takes money from very bad people, he goes to a church where they say awful things about America, and he says that white people are mean and bitter.Obama is a bad, bad man, and he should not be president.
Now go to bed.
Alan Said:
What are the three main reasons why people should vote?We Answered:
There really is only one reason and here it is:BECAUSE YOU CAN!!!
think about all of the other countries who don't have that privilage, What do you think they would give for the right to vote!
For those who don't understand it....
LEARN!!
Cheryl Said:
Why should people vote?We Answered:
You're American? If you don't vote you could end up with idiots like George W Bush, or end up with somebody whose decisions could potentially impact negatively on your life.
Say for example we have two suburbs and there are plans to demolish (highly unlikely I know) suburb 2 so a mall can be built there. Suburb 1 is in favour of it because of the proximity, obviously suburb 2 is against. If everybody from suburb 1 voted and nobody from suburb 2 voted... what would happen?
If you can ***** about current events and proposed solutions for 1000 words or so you'll be fine (hopfully xD ).
