Women Right To Vote

Craig Said:

Women, right to vote. A little help with us history?

We Answered:

If they could use their votes to protect women, they could also use their votes to harm women. Therefore, women should have the vote. Only they could guarantee that their own vote could be used in their best interests.

Julie Said:

What year did American women gain the Right to Vote?

We Answered:

1777 - All states pass laws which take away women's right to vote. Up to this date, women in America could vote. When it was deemed that women were not property owners, this was taken away.

1780 - Massachusetts adopts a constitution that deprives women of their voting rights.

1869 - First woman suffrage law passed in the Territory of Wyoming.

1920 - 19th Amendment passed, giving women the right to vote.

One of the first things I learned in my political science class was that voting is a privilege. I have voted in every presidential election since the age of 21. To be able to vote at age 18 came a few years later. I also plan to vote in November of this year.

Mabel Said:

Which countries do not give the women right to vote?

We Answered:

If I'm not mistaken is Arab Saudi

Ivan Said:

What differences has women's right to vote made?

We Answered:

The suffragettes would still be marching around waving signs, smoking cigars, and throwing rocks at government officials. Other than that not much, women tend to divide up slightly differently than men, but they are still to diverse a group to be treated as a whole, look at how many women supported Obama over Hillary, just as there are African Americans who support McCain over Obama. People are too varied and diverse in their views to lump them into categories like that.
