History...Voting For Women?We Answered:
The Derby took place on June 4th 1913. Emily Wilding Davison was to achieve her place in history by giving her life for the Suffragette cause at this Derby - the world's most famous horse race. Emily Davison suffered terrible injuries at this race and never recovered from them. She died in a local hospital four days after the race. The Derby is not only a horse race. In some senses, the race is secondary to the social importance of this event. In 1913, it was a race where society's elite turned up, including the Royal family who traditionally had a horse entered into it. Because of its importance, it attracted a very large crowd to the Epsom Race Course.
The race itself was a flat sprint. Epsom was shaped almost like a horse shoe. The start took the jockeys along a fast straight that lead to a long and gradual bend. The bend sharpened at Tattenham Corner where the horses slowed down before picking up into the home straight to finish in front of the Royal Box.
In the 1913 Derby, the king entered a horse called Anmer. The jockey was Herbert Jones. As today, all the jockeys wore their colours - a racing jersey that identified that rider to the crowd.
As the horses rounded Tattenham Corner, Anmer was third from last. Emily Wilding Davison got underneath the barrier and threw herself in front of Anmer. The horse went over and Jones came off. Davison took the full force of a sprinting race horse hitting her. The impact took her clean off the ground...........................

why is women voting important to history? We Answered:
Think about it. What if you couldn't vote-- just because you are a woman? The government is restricting your rights.Suffrage for women is extremely important. It allows them to voice their opinions and select leaders they feel are qualified. It also allows them to run for office if they so desire.

Why should women be allowed to vote.. History Hwk..Help!?We Answered:
I can't speak for Britain, but I imagine it's the same as the US. For years, American politicians, including Abraham Lincoln in his day, had made speeches with women in mind. Why, they could not vote? But they could persuade their husbands. Women, even in the days when the man was the 'boss' were often aware of politics and things going on that their husbands didn't know because he was at work all day and she might read the newspaper after she cleaned the house or something.
Women in any country during a war have to 'pick up the slack' and do many jobs men would normally do, including factory work. In a country like Britain, much more directly in the war than the US, I'm sure women were also nurses and doing other jobs directly with the war. They may have risked their own lives on the battlefield to help the men or things like that.

Canadian History Question: Voting By Women? We Answered:
The last Canadian province to give women the vote in provincial elections was Boozy-sur-la Biere. It is the second largest Francophone province in Canada, but is much too often lost and forgotten in the shadow of its larger neighbour, Kwubbek. The year was 2005.Perry Said:
If all women of a voting age voted for Hillary Clinton, do you think she'll win the presidential election? We Answered:
Be careful what you wish for. You might get it, and then where would we all be?If ALL women were to vote and were crazy enough to vote for hillary because she is female, sure she would win. Unless ALL men voted and voted for the male running because he is male. But ALL women will not vote, just like ALL men will not vote. And voting for hilary just because she is female is really not very smart. Look at the issues and the flip-flops, not only by hilary but b a lot of the other candidates, both democrats and republicans. Gender, cuteness, party, and "single issue" policies are not good reasons to vote for anyone. Look at their past as well as their promises.
