Why would a vote for the current tax deal, hurt the economy?

We Answered:

House Republicans have been fighting for a deal where no American will have a tax increase in January. However, uncertainty is the enemy of prosperity. Tax relief should be permanent, not temporary. If we want to encourage investment that creates jobs, this tax deal is not what it will take. No business loans will be given on a 5-30 year loan with a two year planned tax code.

Let's make the current tax rate permanent! "A rising tide lifts all boats."

We're not going to get this economy growing again unless the legislative spending stops, and business growth happens. The deficits continues to grow. We need fiscal responsibility NOW! Can you hear us now!!!!!

Do you think Republicans will win the senior vote in 2010 after they run ads saying the Dems voted to cut?

We Answered:

Well at least there is still Medicare in existance. I think the Democrats will have an effective counter ad, since back in April the Republicans tried to DO AWAY WITH MEDICARE COMPLETELY. Republicans might want to leave that one alone.

"But did Republicans vote to "end," "abolish," and "kill" Medicare? It's provocative, but it's a supportable claim. In April, 137 Republicans voted in support of a GOP alternative budget. It didn't generate a lot of attention, but the plan, drafted by the House Budget Committee's Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) called for "replacing the traditional Medicare program with subsidies to help retirees enroll in private health care plans."

The AP noted at the time that Republican leaders were "clearly nervous that votes in favor of the GOP alternative have exposed their members to political danger."

And the DNC's new ad shows that those concerns were justified.

The more Republicans press Dems on Medicare, the more we're likely to hear about the fact that a majority of the House Republican Caucus voted this year to kill Medicare as we know it, privatizing it out of existence."

If you were give the choice would you vote to cut Wales and Scotland loose and have English independence?

We Answered:

Unless Scotland is willing to fall in line and not get preferential treatment then I'm willing to let them go. Scotland couldn't survive alone with out English Money, Scotland receives £1500 per head more from the Union than it contributes. It already heads the list of the poorest country in Europe.

If the Union did break then Scottish oil would no longer remain in British or Scottish waters as most of the oil fields are in international waters. An international agreement allows them to be controlled by the UK. If the Union splits these agreement will be canceled.

Wales hasn't been it's own country since the mid 12th century when it was concord by England, it remains a principality. Letting go of Wales would be like letting Cornwall have it's own rule.
