Youth Voter Turnout

Catherine Said:

What's with these idiots? Can't they take a hint?

We Answered:

This may surprise you, but many people who voted unfovorably in all of these cases have come forward to say that they believed that the ballot wording of the issue was misleading, and that it was NOT their intention to vote the way they did. All of these defeats have met with this. Putting it on the ballot again, so soon, offers these people a chance to, with a stronger and more indignant focus, to re-examine the issue and the way it is presented.

It wouldn't be the first time the right-wing extremeists shot themselves in the foot by attempting deception!

Edward Said:

IF RAHUL GANDHI INSPIRES THE YOUTH, THEN WHY THE VOTER TURN OUT IS LOWEST IN AMETHI & HIGHEST IN PILIBHIT?

We Answered:

Rahul Gandhi is nearing 40.....and you still call him an youth icon...think..what he has done for the country?....other than attending election campaigns with his mother.....Varun Gandhi can be our youth leader if he leaves the communal tag behind......i think Varun is definitely a much better leader than Rahul.......and definitely a youth icon......

Claire Said:

What do you think is the leading cause of lower voter turnout among America's youth?PLEASE EXPLAIN A LITTLE?

We Answered:

I think Americas youth has other things to do. I know I have a daughter who is young and there is so much drama in her life, that is what takes up most of her attention. Far from politics, which, even for us adults is hard to understand, and after awhile, we too have no clue which one is right, which one is lying and personally gets on my nerves as well and I am an adult,

And even if they were paying attention, they dont have enough life experience to know what would be the best way to do this or do that. Not that they are stupid by any means, just not that experienced in the ways of the world. By being older and having a family and full time job, running a house and the things we do as adults, they would have a better understanding as to how to run a country.

The implicatiions? Their whole age bracket it not being represented. Their wishes are not being presented. In America, it is our right to vote. No experience required, no education required, nothing just to be an adult.

Craig Said:

Voters, how does it feel to be part of history?

We Answered:

I took my 9 year old daughter to the polls this morning before she went to school and it was great. She has followed the campaign these past months and was really rooting for Obama. Even though I support Obama I told her from the beginning what the differences were in the candidates and what they both believed in because I did not want to impose my beliefs on her. She watched all the debates and decided for herself that she preffered Obama. It was a good feeling to know that she was active in this race in her own way and took it upon herself to read about the government on the internet with my permission. I was even more surprised when I saw her cry tears of joy when Obama won tonight. She wanted me to be as happy as she was. It's amazing that Obama has inspired so many young people, not just 18 and up, but very young ones like my daughter. She expressed to me how she wished she could vote several times including today, it was very inspirational. I think her main reason she supported Barack was because of the energy crisis. My 9 year old is extremely sensitive to issues with our environment including global warmimg. Obama addressed these issues and that was important to her.
